Frequently asked questions
How is an exact target possible when other tools can't do it?
Pages are re-rendered as JPEG images while a search runs over resolution (DPI) and compression quality until the total lands under your target. It's slower than a one-shot preset — and it actually hits the number.
Will the PDF still look the same?
It prints and reads the same, at reduced sharpness for very low targets. Text becomes part of the page image, so it can no longer be selected or searched — the standard trade-off for guaranteed-size compression.
My file is 5 MB and the portal wants 200 KB. Possible?
Usually yes for documents up to roughly 10–15 pages — certificates, marksheets and forms compress well. Very long documents may not fit at readable quality; the tool tells you instead of silently failing.

Why did the quality drop so much?
Byte targets are physics: 100 KB across 10 pages is 10 KB per page. If the result is too soft, raise the target or split the document — the tool always shows which DPI and quality it used.
Why “compress PDF to 200 KB” is a different problem
Ordinary compressors apply a fixed preset and hand you whatever comes out — 480 KB, 310 KB, sometimes bigger than the input. That's useless against a portal that rejects anything over 200 KB, because the portal doesn't grade effort. Hitting a byte ceiling requires iteration: render, measure, adjust, repeat. This tool automates that loop, sampling your pages at several resolutions, binary-searching the JPEG quality at each one, and only then building the final file — highest quality that fits, verified before you see the download button.
